deeper dive into mentorship

about our family

At Time to Shine Equine, we are more than a riding program - we are a family. Our experienced riders play a vital role in mentoring and encouraging younger, and newer participants, offering guidance, support, and a spirit of camaraderie that builds lasting confidence. Whether it's cheering each other on during lessons or lending a helping hand in the barn, our riders form strong bonds that extend beyond the arena. This supportive environment fosters personal growth, friendship, and a sense of belonging, helping each child feel valued and empowered as part of our equine community.

Meet our team

Cheryl

I always had a passion to help children with horses; I was a 4-H leader in Colorado (2006-2012). I organized a drill team and headed the Ouray Country Rodeo Royalty. I competed on a working cow horse and a Ranch Riding horse in 2005. I purchased a reoccurring top 10 world champion horse, AQHA all around SR horse of the year. I showed in King of the Hen House and got 3rd in the nation NRCHA. I stood King at Walsh Quarter horses and raised multiple goals which we are now running in our program! I started Time to Shine Equine to give kids an amazing opportunity to ride and compete on horses that have been showed or roped on the highest level. I've gratefully dedicated my life to preserving the western way of life prospering through future generations.

Eddie

He started his career when he was only 9 roping horses in his backyard! He helped his dad in the branding pen from there he went to compete in JR rodeos dominating his sport! After his youth he went to work behind the great Jimmy Paul where he developed his soft hands and unique training skills. Eddie was honored to rope in the BFI 3 years in a row where he roped among the greatest in his sport, now giving it all back to our program.
